Watchmen - Rorschach's Death Scene

Outside, in the snow, Rorschach comes across a copy of Jon standing in the snow...

Rorschach: Out of my way. People have to be told.
Jon Osterman: You know I can't let you do that.
Rorschach: Suddenly you discover humanity. Convenient. (Takes off his mask)
Rorschach: If you'd cared from the start, none of this would've happened.
Jon Osterman: I can change almost anything... but I can't change human nature.
Rorschach: Of course, you must protect Veidt's new Utopia. What's one more body amongst foundations? Well, what are you waiting for? Do it...
(Jon hesitates)
Rorschach: DO IT!
(Jon makes Rorschach explode into a pile of blood)
Dan Dreiberg: NOOOOOOOO!

---END OF DIALOGUE---

There's an upcoming event for our class that is, sad to say, disagreeable and non-negotiable... And because of that, I feel like I'm Rorschach of the comic book/movie "Watchmen"...

"My Current Celebrity Crush: Matthew Goode"

In case you don't know...

Matthew Goode is an English actor. He appeared in movies like "Chasing Liberty" (with Mandy Moore), "Leap Year" (with Amy Adams), "Brideshead Revisited" (with Emma Thompson), and the movie adaptation of "Watchmen".

Besides being a brilliant and versatile actor, he is handsome, charming, dashing, and I LIKE HIM SO MUCH BETTER WHEN HE'S NAKED, LOL! Just kidding! ;P

I Want to Hold Your Hand (Glee Version)

‎"I Want to Hold Your Hand" is one of my favorite Beatles songs... Hearing its Ballad version on "Glee" was surprising and unexpected. It's the perfect song for Kurt's relationship with his dad. I can't help but cry while watching this episode... I ♥ Kurt! And one more thing, it's really cool that they found a young actor who has an uncanny resemblance with Kurt/Chris Colfer, he looks almost like a clone!!! Scratch that! He is a CLONE!!!

Cita Astals

Last night's episode of "Rated K" featured former actress and Manila councilor Cita Astals. It is confirmed that there's really something wrong with her mental health, and I can't help but feel pity for her. I am not a psychiatrist but from what I've learned from our Psychiatric Nursing subject, during the interview she was exhibiting signs of Paranoid Schizophrenia (like the case of John Forbes Nash, Jr. in "A Beautiful Mind"). I really hope and pray that she will get the help and treatment she needs.

A Letter to a Dead Pet Dog

Dearest Badong,

You had been with us for more than ten years… The best guard dog we ever had! You’re probably there in Doggy Heaven, having a great time and bossing other dogs around. Haha! Although, we just wished that we had the chance to say goodbye to you… In case you don’t know… We are very thankful that you had been a part of our family, and we deeply miss you!

WARNING! Schematic Diagrams Can Be Dangerous to Your Health

I almost had a heart attack while presenting the schematic diagram of the occurrence of Pulmonary Edema secondary to Rheumatic Heart Disease in front of my classmates... and Sir Ever.

Oh, the irony of it, having a heart attack while talking about Rheumatic Heart Disease. Tsk-tsk!

Pusong Mamon (1998)

I just watched "Pusong Mamon" on Pinoy Box Office (PBO). "Pusong Mamon" is a 1998 romantic comedy film directed by Joel Lamangan. Starring Lorna Tolentino (as Annie), Eric Quizon (as Nick) and Albert Martinez (as Ron). It is about a woman named Annie who got herself pregnant by seducing Ron, her co-worker, not knowing that Ron is gay and has a boyfriend, Nick, who is (of course) not so happy about Annie suddenly entering into their lives.

April Fool's Day (1986)

I'm waiting for this movie to load (again) on stagevu.com. I know April Fool's Day is already over. I'm supposed to watch this movie last April 1st, but my older siblings did something to our PC which caused the window where the movie was loading to close. Of course I freaked out!

"April Fool's Day" is a 1986 classic slasher film. A few years ago, it was aired on Star Movies Asia, and I was so unlucky that I only saw the ending of the movie. This made me so curious about the movie. For years, I waited for the movie to be aired again... Again, I was unlucky to have the chance to watch it.

But now, thanks a lot to the internet, to the websites that stream videos, and to stagevu.com, I can finally watch the movie!

Although, I just can't help but to wonder... Is there an unseen force that is trying to stop me from watching this movie? Hmmm...

Kari's French Onion Soup

I made French Onion Soup yesterday. ;D Slicing onions was really a challenge! For the melted cheese, we didn't have gruyere or mozarella so I made use of edam (leftover from last Christmas/New Year). I really enjoyed the experience of cooking French Onion Soup, that I even took photos of the food presentation, the photo above is just one of them.

It would be biased if I tell you that it tasted good, but honestly, I felt tipsy after eating it! Haha! Probably, the amount of wine in it was too much, still it was yummy! ;D

Julie & Julia

Mom and I just watched "Julie & Julia". And now, I plan to enhance my cooking skills this summer! But I will not enroll in a cooking class, since I already have mom as my mentor. She's actually the best cook in the whole wide universe and Julia Child is nothing compared to her, haha! Okay, that's biased!

I really hope this plan will push through. Well... that is if I'm not very busy with school stuff, clinical duty, and the review for midwifery board during summer.

The Sure Thing

"The Sure Thing" (1985), starring John Cusack and Daphne Zuniga

A nice romantic comedy, about a college student who goes on a cross-country trip to have a "sure thing"--no questions asked, no strings attached, no guilt involved, a sure thing! But ends up on a journey to romance instead.

I'm currently downloading the movie from stagevu.com. I plan to make some screencaps once our thesis is over! Yeah, screencaps of John Cusack, lots and lots of them! John Cusack is so young and so boyishly handsome in this movie. I always have a crush on him! If ever I don't get the chance to meet him in person, I just wish I can meet someone like him, an oddball yet very good-looking.

"The Substitute Bride" Trailer

I can't believe I'm watching "Precious Hearts Romances Presents: The Substitute Bride" on YouTube! I'm already in episode 6. I know I'm "baduy"! And it only happens once in a blue moon. Okay? Anyway, the main characters are played by Rafael Sorell and Paw Diaz. They do have chemistry! Paw Diaz slightly resembles Scarlett Johansson, and she has cute dimples and hot lips! Besides being "baduy", am I turning into a lesbian? Oh no!!!

Here's the trailer, watch it! <3

La belle personne

I watched the French movie "La belle personne" last night on YouTube. It's a good movie but the story is tragic. I like the songs featured in the movie, especially the song "Comme La Pluie" which was sung by Grégoire Leprince-Ringuet, one of the actors in the movie.

Here's the synopsis from IMDB:

Sixteen-year old Junie changes high school mid-year, following the death of her mother. She finds herself in the same class as her cousin Mathias, who introduces her to his friends. All the boys want to date Junie, and she chooses the quietest among them, Otto Cleves. But soon after, she encounters the great love of her life, Nemours, her Italian teacher. The passion that burns between them is, however, doomed. Junie refuses to give in to her feelings and persists in denying herself happiness, which in her eyes is merely illusory.

"La belle personne" is actually a modern adaptation of the classic French novel "La Princesse de Cleves". I want to read the novel but of course I can't read it now since I'm busy with our thesis.

New Plurk Lay-out

I finally changed my plurk lay-out! Hurray! Since my plurk is already open to the public, I decided to give it a new look.

Before

And now! The new and improved lay-out!

After

Oh, by the way, a fellow Tokio Hotel fan added me as a friend so now my plurk is alive again! Yehey!

Actually, the real reason why I gave my plurk a new look is for me to create a tumblr account. LOL! What's the connection? Well, I gave myself a condition, in order for me to create a tumblr account I must "fix" my plurk lay-out. Haha! That's all. Add my tumblr account, okay?

Ménage à trois

Today is our school's Foundation day. Yehey! No classes for two days! Well not really, since we have to work on our thesis. We're supposed to have a group meet today but my groupnmates canceled it. And I'm glad, since I want to redo our background of the study because what our group leader did was just "copy-paste" which is really disgusting! Ugh!

Oh well, anyway. My friend Anna and I were planning to watch the local bands play in our school but I decided not to go since I'm not feeling well. I think I'm going down with a flu. Almost everybody in school has it. I already took Vitamin C and I hope it can still prevent it. *fingers crossed* I really don't want to get sick, now that I'm very busy with acads, especially with our thesis. Huhu!

Okay, so I'll just stay home, rest, and have a Ménage à trois with my bed and computer. ;P

"The Last Time"

The last time I posted a blog entry was August 28, 2009, and it was, I think, 3 days before Butterscotch died...

Butterscotch was our family dog, and she had been with us for eight wonderful years. She died last September 1. I wasn't able to write about her death because I was overwhelmed with grief and at the same time I was busy with school stuff because it was during our Midterm exams week when it happened. We were not really sure what caused her death but I suspect that she accidentally ingested rat poison.

Photobucket

Losing Butterscotch deeply affected our family. My dad and my older brother even cried. We really had to get use of her absence in our lives. And it's good that we already have move on. But we can't help missing her so much especially during family gatherings, just like last Christmas, since it was the first Christmas without her.

Butterscotch isn't "just" a pet to us, she is actually a very important member of our family. Nobody and no other dog can ever replace her.
