To us kids born in the late 80s, if you ask us what movies we grew up watching, we'll definitely mention the movies: "Hook", "Mrs. Doubtfire", "Jumanji", movies in the 90s which starred Robin Williams. And also during the 90s, Star World aired reruns of old TV series like "Mork & Mindy", a hit show in the 70s (I think), in which Robin Williams played the titular character Mork. Basically, the 90s was full of Robin Williams movies, he was also the voice actor of Genie in "Aladdin", the Disney cartoon that my siblings and I love next to "Mulan". Aside from being a great comedy actor, Robin was also a great dramatic actor, he can turn you into a Bipolar, he can make you laugh and then make you cry just like in the movie "Patch Adams", a movie that was based on the life of an American philantrophic doctor. It was a nice and touching movie but we later found out that the movie didn't give justice to the real person and to the real events. But let's forget about that...
But then the year 2000 came and it was like a movie drought for Robin Williams, maybe some of you will not agree with me but the movies he appeared in lately were no longer as spectacular as the movies he appeared in in the 90s. If I remember correctly, the last movie of him that I saw was "RV" and it wasn't a nice movie. Maybe I should watch "Night at the Museum" to see that even in his last movie he still showed his greatness as the actor we all loved when we were kids.
Rest in Peace, Mr. Robin Williams! Thank you for being a great actor, thank you for being a part of our childhood.
